Reading his acrostic poem to us

Below is a link to Seb performing his poem...but I can never get videos to work.  Hopefully this format will change that.  It's a link to my google drive (I believe).

Watching the video on seeds...Seb is enthralled...

Math problem.  I did it wrong with him.  Should have added the 10s first.  Realized that too late.  next time.

Rough draft of his acrostic poem

5 kind things

Pictograph.  He didn't want to make the same symbol for each item...

He finished Flat Stanley...just in time.  He was a beast all day.  Mean, spiteful and horrible.  Hopefully the karate exercise will help.

Tuesday, 4/28

The boys both love poetry--much to my surprise!  They enjoy the rhythm and they love reciting poems.  Who knew?!  Here's seb reading today's poem.

Here's his crappy drawing of the poem.

We found more seeds when we were finally able to go outside for a bit this morning.  We'll add those to the drawing tomorrow.

He drew the Jabberwocky LOL!!!!!!

So proud of his math success!  Thank you so much, Mrs. Sanpietro!!!  He blew through them with no help--I checked him when he was done and he had made 2 silly errors, but really had all the big ideas right.  He feels so much more confident!

He also did 60 minutes of silent reading today--the right book makes all the difference.  Transformers! :-)

Wednesday, April 29

Today, Cassie dropped off a coloring book page of a gorilla for Seb...rang the bell and said hello to him and to me...it was rolled up and tied with a piece of twine and the note said something like "This is for you because I know you like gorillas."  I think she was off to deliver other surprises to people as well.
So sweet.  Seb beamed...made his day.

He also had a chat with Mrs. Anderson this morning.  That went well.  He's been a real pain in the next this week--like really unpleasant and rude and angry.  We've got him starting up with his counselor again on Friday.  At first the quarantine seemed to make him better.  Now he's just angry at Adrian all the time and he's mean and babyish and not very nice.  :-(  We'll get through it, but yikes it's been hard lately.

Silent reading

I'm so sorry, but I'm increasingly having to help/scribe to get things done.  This was an insanely busy week for me at work and I was in survival mode...

Friday, May 1

We took it really easy on the work today.  We did everything except the math graph and measurements.  We'll do it over the weekend.  And we didn't plant the seeds.  Too rainy.  And we have a garden right outside the kitchen with all kinds of veggies and herbs.  I'll make sure they learn about seeds and different plants.  :-)

Was a crazy busy week for me...could barely keep up.  Adrian was having a very very hard time.  Totally explosive at home...like every day this week.  Was capped off by an ADHD and OCD diagnosis...to go along with his anxiety.  Hopefully we can make some progress with him and it will also help Seb, too.  He met with his "coach" tonight for the first time since the quarantine started--was good for him (we had to iron out some insurance issues.  And, to be honest, he was BETTER until about last week when school was officially cancelled.  Then he just fell apart.)

This is him during his 1-on-1 with you.

  1. Nice job, Seb! I'm so glad you're enjoying the poetry. I love reading poems too! I'm sure Mr. Higgins loved your Jabberwocky drawing. It's amazing! Keep up the good work with your math! You've got this! Love, Mrs. Sanpietro
